So what's the occasion??

Simply put, 2024 is KAIAN's 10 year anniversary as a registered organisation and the focus will be a celebration of our community! We're hoping to showcase some of our key contributors from over the years, reunite many friends who haven't seen each other for too long and facilitate thought provoking and meaningful discussions that impact our lives as Korean adoptees.

We'll be running a long weekend conference for any Korean adoptees able to make it to Sydney. As we're part of the International Korean Adoptee Associations (IKAA) network we'd like to welcome international visitors and the format will be a condensed version of the typical IKAA Gatherings held in Korea.

This will be the biggest event we've held in our history and we can't wait to see you all!

When is it?

• Friday 1st of November to Sunday 3rd of November

• To be held in Sydney's central CBD area

Location

• Sydney is home to more than half of Australia's Korean-born residents (est 109,000 in total)

• Sydney's population is 5.2 million people. Australia is around 25.5 million

Conference Duration

• Fri night - Opening night at the Korean Cultural Centre (pending total numbers)

• Saturday - Conference agenda (requests for facilitators/presenters will open later this year however please email us if you'd like to register early interest)

• Saturday night - Community dinner and drinks

• Sunday - Picnic (formal conference ends)

• For international/interstate visitors, or anyone who's interested, we'll also be proposing some group tourism activities around the event dates.

How much will it cost to attend?

• We continue to pursue fundraising and grant opportunities, and ticket pricing will be dependent on these outcomes.
