About the event

Koreans have a long and vibrant tradition of enjoying rice as the centrepiece of their meals with various side dishes. Rice cakes in particular were a feature on a family's feast table for things like birthdays.

Join this special workshop to paint your own rice cake using bean paste with our experienced instructor to guide you.

Detail of program

  • Enjoy our current exhibition WONDER: Wordless Picture Books by 7 artists from South Korea with short guide tour
  • Paint Your Own Korean Rice Cake: On top of the cake base using Baekseolgi rice cake, we will express our appreciation of 'Pool' by JiHyeon Lee using various colours of bean paste.
  • The instructor will briefly introduce Korean rice cakes, explain how to make colour with bean paste, organize the design, and practice painting together, and also explain how to store rice cake.
